Chairman's walk and meal

Sunday, 2nd December 2018 at 9:45am - 4pm

Location: Sir William Hotel, Sir William Hill Road, Grindleford, S32 2HS

One meal place£22.00Included

We are going to enjoy another great walk in the Peak District for this years Chairman's Walk. We'll be starting from the Sir William Hotel in Grindleford, leaving at 9:45am sharp so make sure you arrive in good time to get your boots on and be ready to start walking at 9:45am. If you don't feel up to walking then you can still join us for the meal, we'll be sitting down to eat at 3pm.

For those that are walking you'll find the route is pretty easy, mostly flat with one up and one down, approximately 12 miles in length, kids welcome. We'll start by walking down the Derwent to Curbar, then a short unavoidable road section up to Curbar Gap. Here anyone who wants to scramble can divert along the bottom of the edge while the rest of us go along the top. We'll reconvene at the gap between Curbar and Froggatt and complete the rest of the walk together, past the Grouse Inn, across Longshaw Estate and down Padley Gorge back to Grindleford. Those who don't want to do the whole walk could meet us at Curbar gap and get a lift back to their car.

If you are staying for the post walk meal, or just coming to the meal, we'll be sitting down to eat at 3pm in the restaurant of the Sir William Hotel in Grindleford. You'll need to book in advance for the three course meal by submitting your menu choices and making payment of £22 via the website by the 25th November. Please only book one place at a time as we need your menu choices individually.

Starter choices:

  • Triple baked cheese Souffle (vegetarian)
  • Chefs Soup of the day (Tomato & Roasted Red Peppers) (vegan)

Main choices:

  • Vegetable Stew NO DUMPLINGS (vegan)
  • Beef stew & dumplings
