Club equipment

The club maintains a stock of equipment which can be borrowed by club members free of charge. Naturally it is expected that any equipment borrowed will be looked after with care, and returned in good/clean condition (See here for general guidance on caring for equipment). You can arrange to use the equipment by contacting Dick Freer (07971 215203).

Any damage caused however slight (or incident which may have caused damage even if not visible) MUST be reported when the equipment is returned. Please do not use the equipment if there is any cause for concern as to its correct/safe operation. Club members must accept responsiblity for the correct use any equipment borrowed from the club.

Climbing harness 3 A basic adult climbing harness complete with belay device and karabiner, plus a nutkey and karabiner. This is intended for use by new club members who are keen to get out climbing with the club, whether indoors or outdoors, but have not yet reached the stage where they have there own equipment. Also existing club members can use these when climbing with prospective club members who do not yet have there own.

Climbing Helmet 3 A basic adult climbing helmet suitable for outdoor and indoor use. Ideal for use by new club members, or for existing club members to use with prospective club members. As per the basic harness set (see above).
Bouldering mat 1 Our 'SNAP Wrap' bouldering mat is kept at the club hut and is available for club members to use when staying at the hut. The mat may be taken out by club members for bouldering in the area, but must not be taken away from the hut overnight. Ideal for a warm-up on Dinorwic Mill Rocks just outside the hut. And in case you are short on inspiration you'll find a copy of the latest North Wales Bouldering guidebook on the book shelf.

NB: Please ensure the mat is unfolded when it is stored in the club hut.
Via Feratta Lanyard 2 A rip stop via feratta system using self opening karabiners. Designed for users who weigh between 30kg and 100kg but can be used for lighter or heavier individuals if a safety rope is employed. The latest generation of Mammut's Tec Step via feratta sets take account of the most recent findings from safety research, even in the case of a 180 degree misuse (one karabiner on the guide cable, the second on the climbing harness) the Tec Step sets will hold a fall safely.
Walking Axe 1 The DMM Cirque is a classic walking and mountaineering axe. Aimed at general winter walking and lightweight semi technical mountaineering. Comes with a standard DMM leash.
Climbing Axes 1 pair A classic all rounder the DMM Fly is the sort of ice tool that performs well on technical ground but can easily be adapted for more traditional mountaineering terrain.
Crampons 2 pairs The Grivel G12 New Classic is a classic 12-point crampon designed for general mountaineering, glaciers or easy ice.
Grivel G10 walking crampons are C1 rated classic universal crampons, ideal for general winter walking use.
Group shelter 2 A 4 person group shelter ideal for year round use in walking, mountaineering, ski touring, etc.
A 6 to 8 person group shelter ideal for year round use in walking, mountaineering, ski touring, etc.
Mountain first aid kit 2 A comprehensive first aid kit for the mountaineer, walker or climber.
