We are restarting our annual alpine meet with a trip to the Ecrins (France) staying at the Camping d'Ailefroide where you can easily reach a variety of single and multi-pitch adventures without even needing to get in the car. Of course if you do get in the car there are even more climbing venues with in easy reach for sport and trad climbing, plus excellent via ferratas. Excellent walking is of course all around you and there is classic road cycling too if that's your flavour of fun.
Thanks to the ever awesome Michelle Aukland we have your coronation bank holiday weekend sorted. Join us in the peak district for an extra long weekend of camping (thanks KC) at the Knotslow Farm Campsite. This is a particularly family friendly meet and children are especially welcome. The campsite is child-friendly. Lots of play space. They do wood fired pizzas, fire pits and the lovely pub in Monyash (good food) is a mile across the fields. It has a play area right next to the beer garden :)
The Tissington and Monsal Trails are close by with cycle hire options. Lovely walks (Lathkill dale) and plenty of climbing and bouldering options are just down the road. If you're coming, just book yourselves in at the campsite and let them know you are with 'Michelle Aukland', then send Michelle an email so she can keep an eye on numbers.
The results for the 35th Charnwood Hills Race are now available here on the club website. Thanks to all the runners and volunteers for making it a great success. See you all again in 2024!
