We are pleased to be holding our annual fun bouldering competition at The Climbing Station (Loughborough) on Thursday 12th January. The competition starts at 18:30 sharp so you need to be ready to start climbing at this time. The main competition involves attempting various boulder problems and recording your score during the climbing time 18:30-19:30. We will then have some fun competitive bouldering challenges from 19:30 to 20:00. From 20:00 we will have pizza/drinks and hand out some prizes.
There is a small charge of £3 to enter the competition and if you want to have pizza/drinks then it's £10 (includes entry to the competition).
You will still need to pay your entry to The Climbing Station.
Unfortunately due to an accidental diary clash we have to change the date for our pre-christmas family gathering. The new date is Saturday 17th December. We hope our families can still make it. You can find the event details here. Do RSVP to Andy Potter so we know who is coming.
A reminder that it is the Chairman’s Walk this Sunday. Starting from Upper Burbage Bridge Car Park (Where you park for climbing at Burbage North) at 10:30 a.m. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS THE CORRECT STARTING POINT, NOT CASTLETON AS IT ORIGINALLY STATED ON THE EVENTS PAGE. The walk is about 14km long and on easy terrain, but with some mud. There are no toilets en route, but there is a pub halfway round, who have agreed to do us chips. You pay for the chips and beer (or poison of your choice) at the pub. We will probably arrive at the pub at 12:30ish. If chips are not enough, bring some extra sustenance. The pub have asked us to leave v muddy boots at the door, so you may want to bring a pair of lightweight shoes/sliders. Those with extra energy may want to take part in bouldering; indoors or outdoors weather and time permitting afterwards. The weather currently looks dry on Sunday, but cold with an Easterly breeze. If you are coming please let Zoe know (if you haven't done so already) at zpbowline@gmail.com
